A well-kept brick shared housing home on a quiet residential street

Veteran-Led. Relationship-Driven. · Connecting People, Properties, and Housing Opportunities.

Connecting Housing Needs With Housing Opportunities.

Preferred Housing Network connects adults seeking independent shared housing with property owners, housing operators and community referral professionals. We begin by understanding local housing needs, then develop appropriate housing resources around them.

Identify housing needs

We begin by understanding local housing demand through referral professionals and community agencies — before acquiring properties.

Verify housing resources

Every property is individually confirmed for lawful use, occupancy, safety and readiness before any referral is made.

Connect people to homes

We match appropriate housing inquiries with verified independent shared housing — fairly, lawfully and individually.

Returning citizens

A fair path to housing for returning citizens

PHN supports adults reentering the community with referrals to independent shared housing. We never use blanket exclusion language about criminal history — each person is reviewed individually under fair-housing principles.

  • Individualized review — no blanket exclusions
  • Coordination with reentry professionals and case managers
  • Stable, screened shared-housing placements

How it works

The housing referral process

A clear, accountable path from inquiry to stable placement.

01

Inquiry

A resident, family member or referring professional submits a housing inquiry through PHN.

02

Intake & Needs

PHN gathers needs, preferences and any accommodation requests to match appropriately.

03

Matching

We match the person with a verified operator or property in an active market.

04

Referral & Follow-Up

A referral is made and PHN follows up to support a stable placement.

Verification & trust

Availability is confirmed, not assumed

PHN never publishes unverified vacancies, rates or occupancy. Every property is individually confirmed and its lawful use reviewed before any referral.

Individually confirmed

Bed count, room rate, vacancy and authorized occupancy are confirmed per property — never assumed from a label.

Lawful-use review

Calling a property independent or nonlicensed does not determine its legal classification. Housing operates under applicable local and state rules.

No guarantees, no fake stats

We publish no unverified availability, no fake reviews, and no claims of government endorsement or housing guarantees.

For agencies

Partner with PHN as a referral agency

Case managers, social workers, veteran organizations, reentry professionals and community agencies can refer people to a vetted housing network — and track referrals through a professional process.

Who this is for

  • Case managers & social workers
  • Veteran service organizations
  • Reentry professionals
  • Community & faith-based agencies
  • Housing referral coordinators

For landlords & owners

Fill vacancies with stable, screened tenants

Owners of suitable independent shared housing can connect with a professional referral and screening process — stable tenancy through a vetted network rather than open-market churn.
